Orchards

1.

take an orange, apple or other fruit tree found in the wild and take 10 cuttings

a cutting is a stem around 8 inches in length and 1/4 inch i diameter (from old type wood)

2.

put the cuttings in soil, with about 2 inches under the soil, and allow sunlight and rain onto the soil

After a few months there should be green leaves on each of the stems

when there are new small branches, transplant the new plant into the soil

repeat this process until there are 20 to 30 fruit trees

after 5 to 6 years the trees should produce fruit

after each season, trim some branches from the trees (about 10% of the number of branches and length)

3.

the crop can be improved by making new trees from the ones that produced the most and best fruit

do not continue this process too far, or the fruit may loose texture and become very vulnerable to disease

maintain some diversity of sources, e.g. mix 5% wild trees into the orchard (trees cross-polinate [** check])

Cleared land

Cleared land is land that has had all the trees and bushes on it removed.

This is an expensive and slow process, however it creates a valuable asset

Fences are put around the land (1.5m high)

Start with wild cattle, sheep, etc.

The herd size would be approximately 2 ^ number-of-years, assuming an accumulation in the

total size (i.e. none are sold)
